The Platform

Het Platform is een Spaanstalige film met een horror-thriller genre. Het verhaal draait om het leven in het verticale gevangenissysteem.

Het verhaal wordt geopend door de gefrituurde personages die wakker werden in betonnen cellen gemarkeerd met het nummer 48.

Zijn eencellige vriend, Trimagasi, legde uit dat ze in een toren-stijl gevangenis waar voedsel werd verzonden via een platform dat verhuisde van boven naar beneden door een groot gat in de vloer en het plafond.

Degenen die in de bovenste kamer wonen, hebben de mogelijkheid om veel voedsel porties en in goede staat.

Ondertussen, hoe meer naar beneden de gevangene is hoe minder voedsel dat de mensen hierboven achtergelaten. Ze brachten alleen eten restanten van de bovenste kamer.

De kamer werd verwarmd of gekoeld tot de gevangenen sterven als ze proberen om het voedsel op te slaan nadat het platform hun niveau heeft verlaten.

Elke maand worden gevangenen toegewezen aan een nieuw niveau, en elke gevangene is toegestaan om een item mee te nemen.

De film ging in première op het Toronto International Film Festival 2019, waar hij de People's Choice Award won voor Midnight Madness. In TIFF krijgt de film ook een streaming deal die wereldwijd beschikbaar is met Netflix.

Geregisseerd door Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia, de film sterren Iván Massagué, Antonia San Juan, Zorion Eguileor, Emilio Buale, en Alexandra Masangkay.
